ClipHD is adware that may show annoying pop-up advertisements in a web browser when a computer user is visiting a variety of commercial or suspicious websites. The ClipHD advertisements may signify that a computer system is contaminated with adware or a potentially unwanted program. The pop-up advertisements of ClipHD may appear on a screen of a PC when a computer user is moving the mouse towards some specific products being sold there. Then, the so-called 'See Similar' button may show up followed by a larger window with a variety of similar items, allegedly sent by ClipHD. ClipHD may proliferate and install itself onto the computer system packaged with numerous freeware, which computer users can download and install from the Web. Free applications may often include numerous other software, which may be unnecessary for the computer user. Therefore, when the PC user installs any free app, he should carefully follow what he is going to install together with the desired program that has selected. Once installed, the ClipHD browser plug-in may highlight words on the websites that are visited by computer users changing them into hyperlinks. These ClipHD links may be embedded within the text, and may come with a double underline to separate them from normal links. When the computer user rolls the mouse over the link, the pop-up advertisements of ClipHD may appear on the screen. If the computer user clicks on the ClipHD pop-up links, the creators of the browser extension may make a profit from these clicks.
