Checkpcsecurity.com is a deceptive page, dedicated to running a version of the 'Your PC is infected with 5 viruses' tactic. Users who land on the page, usually via forced redirects, will be presented with various fake alarms and warnings about threatening malware being found on their computers or devices. The goal of the hoax site is to then lure the user into installing a promoted application or buying a subscription for one.
This particular scheme operates by pretending to run a scan for malware threats. Such functionality is impossible for a website, and it shouldn't be surprising that this fake scan always detects five malware threats. To add legitimacy to its completely fake warnings, Checkpcsecurity.com pretends as if the warnings are coming from the legitimate security vendor McAfee. It is important to realize that real security products would never intentionally be promoted via such dubious means, and McAfee is in no way connected to Checkpcsecurity.com. The goal of the fraudsters is to earn illegitimate commissions for each sale carried out via their page.
The site also may try to convince users to enable its push notifications. Doing so will enable Checkpcsecurity.com to start running an intrusive advertising campaign. The advertisements delivered by the page will most likely promote more deceptive destinations, phishing schemes, PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs), etc.
