CacheImprovement

A recent report revealed that an adware application that pretends to be a harmless extension for the Google Chrome Web browser has been found in the wild. The adware is called CacheImprovement and it’s designed to display advertisements, redirect users to other websites and so on.

CacheImprovement's main objective is to force you to see as many advertisements as possible to generate monetary gains for its developers. Although CacheImprovement will not cause any harm to your computer, the advertisements it displays could collect data using cookies and other methods, and also redirect to corrupted websites.

The advertisements promoted by CacheImprovement could appear as banners, pop-ups, highlighted text advertisements, browser redirects and other, similar advertising forms.

CacheImprovement may find its way to your computer by being included in the installation process of useful software such as a media player, free converters, etc. that are downloaded and installed from unchecked sources This is a very popular tactic because it makes possible CacheImprovement to be added to the installer of those applications automatically, and not be noticed by the computer user.

You also could have allowed CacheImprovement to enter your Mac by downloading it from a corrupted website to which you were redirected. These websites could eventually lead to schemes or even malware.

Cacheimprovement may cause your computer to run slower, and it will not go away until you remove it completely with the right tool. This is why security experts highly recommend the removal of CacheImprovment in case you have spotted it on your Mac.
