Boonana aka Trojan.osx.boonana.a is a dangerous Trojan that affects Mac OS X, including the latest version of OS X, Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6). Boonana propagates through social networking websites such as Facebook, covered as a video. Boonana is included as a link in messages on social networking websites and is headlined 'Is this you in this video?'. Once a computer user clicks the malicious link, Boonana initially starts as a Java application, which downloads other files to the infected machine, including an installer, which initiates automatically. When run, the installer makes changes to system files to circumvent the use of passwords, enabling outside access to all files on the compromised PC system. It is strongly advised to uninstall Boonana immediately after detection.
