Blacklane.site

Blacklane.site is another deceptive page, whose only goal is to serve questionable content to users in the form of intrusive and unwanted advertisements. This particular tactic has been growing in popularity and more pages proliferating it are popping into existence almost daily. It consists of the con page showing misleading messages to its visitors. The goal is to lure them into subscribing to the site's push notification services by clicking the 'Allow' button.

Of course, users are highly unlikely to do so if presented with the actual intentions of the misleading page. That is why Blacklane.site and all the other dubious websites identical to it use various fake scenarios. The most popular by far is pretending to be doing a CAPTCHA check. Blacklane.site has been observed to do exactly this - it displays an image with a robot on its page and accompanies it with a message similar to:

'Type allow to verify you are not a robot.'

The advertisements delivered by these websites cannot be trusted either. They are likely to employ more social-engineering tactics to lead users to other shady or unsafe third-party websites. Users could be taken to phishing pages, domains spreading PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs), etc.

The chances of users opening Blacklane.site willingly are almost non-existent. In the vast majority of cases, they were taken there via forced redirects caused by a previously visited page or as a result of the activities of PUPs that are present on their computers or devices. While PUPs are not considered to represent a direct threat, it is strongly recommended to remove them as soon as possible.
