Most users worldwide have the Adobe Flash Player installed on their system. Due to this fact, con-artists online have been using this application to trick users into downloading and installing dubious software on their systems for decades. Among the countless websites running this decades-old scam is the page. As soon as a visitor opens the page, they will be greeted with a pop-up window that would urge them to install an update for the Adobe Flash Player application.

It is likely that the bogus site is able to spot what Web browser the user is utilizing. Windows users will be presented with an alert that would closely resemble a legitimate Windows notification. For Mac users, the site is likely to display a pop-up that is designed to look like a genuine OSX alert. Users who are not very experienced may fall for the trickery of the site and install the suggested software. Cybersecurity researchers are still not certain whether the site is promoting simple PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) or downright malicious applications. Luckily, most shady sites like the page are not very likely to push malicious software on their visitors.

Make sure that you do not install software from shady sources like the Web page. If you want to update your applications, do not forget that the only secure source is the official website of the app's publisher.
