Threat Database Ransomware Beamed Ransomware

Beamed Ransomware

The Beamed Ransomware is an injurious threat, equipped with the necessary invasive capabilities to lock its victims' data. Most ransomware-type threats are designed to target numerous, different file types to maximize the damage they cause.

As a result, affected users will usually lose access to their documents, PDFs, images, photos, archives, databases and more. When the Beamed Ransomware encrypts a file, it also adds '.beamed' to that file's name as a new extension. Victims also will notice the appearance of an unfamiliar text file named 'RIP YO DOCUMENTS.txt' on the breached device. Inside the file will be a ransom note detailing the demands of the attackers.

Typically, the operators of ransomware threats try to appear as professionals to convince users that paying the ransom will result in the complete recovery of the data. However, the Beamed Ransomware doesn't follow this behavior. Instead, the cybercriminals' message contains several expletives aimed at the affected users. The note also states that victims are expected to pay the sum of $200 in Bitcoins.
