The Anthraxbulletproof threat has been classified as ransomware. These threatening tools are created for the specific purpose of locking the data of their victims. Infosec researchers have confirmed that this particular threat is part of the Chaos Ransomware family.

When the Anthraxbulletproof Ransomware is successfully executed, it will scan the breached device and encrypt most of the data found there - documents, archives, databases, photos, audio and video files and more. Each encrypted file will have '.Anthraxbulletproof' attached to its original name.

A ransom note will be delivered to Anthraxbulletproof Ransomware's victims in the form of a text file named 'read_it.txt.' The instructions from the cybercriminals state that the affected users or organizations must pay a ransom of $10 000. The money must be transferred to the provided crypto-wallet address, with only Bitcoin payments being accepted. After completing the transaction, victims are expected to message the hackers on their Telegram account.
