Adware:Win32/HitLink
Adware:Win32/HitLink is an adware application that shows out of context advertisements on the screen of the corrupted PC. Adware:Win32/HitLink takes over the affected web browser and reroutes web users to doubtful advertising websites. When activated, Adware:Win32/HitLink adds infected files on the victimized PC. Adware:Win32/HitLink also makes modifications to the Windows Registry. so that it can launch automatically whenever you start Windows. Adware:Win32/HitLink also modifies the registry entries to create an option in the Programs and Features control panel menu that will uninstall the application. Adware:Win32/HitLink checks if the computer user visits any websites that incorporate the certain strings in their web addresses. Any text the PC user enters into the website search box is transmitted to a server, via the certain web address. The server will then tell the hacked Internet browser to show pop-up advertisements. Adware:Win32/HitLink aims at checking for and install updated versions of itself by connecting to the certain server.
