Adware:Win32/Gisav

Adware:Win32/Gisav is an adware application that shows offers pertaining to a victimized computer user's web browsing habits. Adware:Win32/Gisav can be dropped and installed on an affected PC from the website of the application. Adware:Win32/Gisav can also be packaged with some third-party software installation tools. While being installed on the infected computer system, Adware:Win32/Gisav also creates an uninstaller in Control Panel. However, if a target PC owner starts this uninstaller, he/she can unknowingly download and install more potentially unwanted programs on the attacked PC. When installed, Adware:Win32/Gisav adds a browser add-on on the compromised Internet Explorer web browser. Adware:Win32/Gisav also installs extensions for the Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome Internet browsers. Adware:Win32/Gisav opens extra ads that occur independently outside the context of the application, website, or other source the ads are featuring as the computer user surfs the Internet.
