EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

PC security researchers have received various reports involving Zebar Ads, because Zebar Ads displays irritating pop-up advertisements that prevent computer users from browsing the Web effectively. Zebar Ads are often associated with Potentially Unwanted Programs. These advertisements may involve pop-up windows, new browser tabs or advertisements displayed directly on Web pages viewed on the affected Web browser. For example, Zebar Ads may appear instead of a website's normal advertisements or in the form of various types of advertising material such as banners or mouse-over advertisements. If your Web browser is exposed to Zebar Ads, PC security analysts recommend the use of a reliable security application that is fully up to date, to ensure that it has not been exposed to possibly harmful content. Zebar Ads may direct computer users to known misleading tactics or attempt to convince them to download and install PUPs or other possibly harmful applications.

What Causes the Zebar Ads
Zebar Ads may interrupt computer users trying to browse the Web, displaying intrusive pop-up advertisements at random intervals or whenever computer users try to carry out an online search, click on a link or connect to a URL. The following are the two possible causes for Zebar Ads:
- If your Web browser displays Zebar Ads only when you visit a specific website, then it is possible that the website itself has been compromised. Criminals may take over legitimate websites and use them to display potentially harmful content such as Zebar Ads to profit at the expense of visitors. It may also mean that the website itself, due to carelessness or malice, has been set up to display harmful or suspicious advertisement content. In this instance, the problem may not be on the affected Web browser.
- If your Web browser is displaying Zebar Ads regardless of the websites you visit, then it is likely that a PUP has been installed on your Web browser. These types of PUPs may take the form of Web browser toolbars, extensions, add-ons or plug-ins. PUPs associated with Zebar Ads may affect most popular Web browsers on the Windows operating system, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
