EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

The YSearch Tab program was reported of browser hijacking in the second week of September 2017. The YSearch Tab program appears to support a version for Mozilla Firefox only at the time of research. Most of the installations of YSearch Tab were reported to occur when users installed a free program package with the 'Express' and 'Standard' option. Software bundling is a legitimate practice that helps freeware developers to partner with other developers and earns pay-per-install revenue from trialware. However, software bundles are used to deliver adware and browser hijackers often. The YSearch Tab program claims to offer an improved search by Yahoo to Firefox users, as well as an enhanced new tab, but investigation suggests otherwise.
The YSearch Tab program has an official page at Live.ysearchtab.com, which performs a browser redirect to Ysearchtab.com/ysearchtab/ffsrchmgr2/n/zz. A generic EULA is presented to the visitor's attention, and there is no company or address mentioned. You can read the same generic type of Privacy Policy published on Support.ysearchtab.com/pp.html. Web surfers may be suggested that YSearch Tab is developed in partnership with Yahoo, but that is not true. Installing the YSearch Tab browser add-on does not change your new tab page, alter your default search provider or add enhanced features to Search.yahoo.com. There are no visual changes to the navigation bar, status bar, the menus and how Yahoo is loaded. The YSearch Tab browser add-on appears to collect non-personally identifiable information like your Internet history, bookmarks and the time spent online. The data gathered by YSearch Tab may be shared with advertisers and help third parties load targeted commercials on affiliated online stores. Computer security analysts note that the YSearch Tab browser add-on has no official page on the Mozilla Add-Ons platform and it is not recommended to use the app. Security scanners may flag the YSearch Tab browser add-on as PUP.YSearch Tab, which means it is recognized as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP).
