WowMovix is the company behind the WowMovix Start and WowMovix browser extensions that you may be offered to install along with free applications like Accelimize and SpeedyApp. You may be interested to know that the WowMovix software is a re-branded version of the MixMovie program suite, and it may change your search settings to Movix.searchalgo.com. Additionally, the WowMovix extensions might modify the appearance of your new tab page and change your homepage preferences to provide you with links to sites like IMDB.com and RottenTomatoes.com. The WowMovix software may run as a background process of Google Chrome and provide links to services like Gmail, LinkedIn, Facebook and Wikipedia on your start page. The WowMovix extensions are perceived as Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) because they are supported by advertisers and may send data like your browsing and download history as well as bookmarks collection and software configuration to third parties.
Computer users that installed the WowMovix suite of extensions may want to visit the Wowmovix.com page and familiarize themselves with its Terms and Conditions. If you have installed the WowMovix suite, you may notice that you cannot change your preferred search provider and homepage and use the features of WowMovix you want separately. The WowMovix software may write an entry in the configurations of your Web browser and Windows Registry to subject users to do searches online with Movix.searchalgo.com only. Additionally, the WowMovix Start and WowMovix browser extensions may show pop-up windows to promote products at online stores from partners. Avid moviegoers might consider the ads by WowMovix annoying and want to use Google and Yahoo instead of Movix.searchalgo.com. You can install a reliable anti-spyware tool to clean all traces of the WowMovix software and prevent unwanted data transmissions from your PC to remote servers.
