WinDefender2008 (or, alternatively, WinDefender 2008) is a rogue anti-spyware program that bombards you with numerous pop-up ads and notifications that explain you have a variety of privacy risks on your system. These, of course, are completely untrue, however they tend to work in persuading you to purchase the WindDefender2008 program. When installed, WinDefender2008 will scan your computer and list a large amount of false privacy risks, in order to intimidate you into purchasing the "full" commercial version of this software. If you use Internet Explorer while the program is running, at certain times the program will also display alerts stating certain legitimate sites were risks even when the sites are perfectly safe.
