Win64/Olmarik.X is a rootkit Trojan, which is able to connect to a remote server without the affected PC user's permission and knowledge. Win64/Olmarik.X can circulate via malicious content websites or illegal free download websites. If your PC has been affected by Win64/Olmarik.X, certain system files may be deleted from your hard disk and your computer may operate sluggishly or fail to start at all. Win64/Olmarik.X may come bundled with tracking cookies in the hijacked web browser. Win64/Olmarik.X is difficult to remove from the corrupted machine by using many anti-virus programs. Win64/Olmarik.X may modify the Master Boot Record (MBR) where it could have access to make changes to an infected computer. These changes may involve eliminating a PC's ability to operate normally or enable attackers to obtain an administrator full control.
