EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

Multiple reports of problems that may be linked to Win32/Zperm detections have been sent to malware researchers. Win32/Zperm may indicate the presence of adware on your computer. However, many cases of Win32/Zperm 'infections' have been observed to be false positives due to conflicting security programs on the same computer or with recent problems regarding a certain popular security program. So, how can you determine whether Win32/Zperm is an actual problem on your computer? Only one security application should be used when looking for threats on a computer; never use two active security programs at once. Security programs may interfere with each other, meaning that it is better to use a single security scanner at all times and keep it fully up-to-date. One particular problem linked to Win32/Zperm is that even after removing Win32/Zperm, it may continue to return. This can be avoided by making sure that your anti-malware software is updated completely. Also, your anti-malware product should be equipped to deal with adware, or you should use a specific application separately, one that is designed to deal with adware and Potentially Unwanted Programs.
What Adware Such as Win32/Zperm may Cause to a Computer
If there is actually an adware infection on your computer, it is crucial to understand what PUPs like Win32/Zperm do and, most importantly, what they don't do:
- PUPs may not be threatening. They may be specific to your Web browser and are installed as Web browser add-ons such as toolbars, Browser Helper Objects or plug-ins.
- PUPs like Win32/Zperm may be the cause of numerous symptoms that may be related to advertising. If pop-up windows and new tabs containing new tabs are been displayed by your Web browser automatically or it is behaving in other erratic ways, it is possible that a PUP is present on your computer.
- Most PUPs like Win32/Zperm may cause system performance problems because they consume system resources and interfere with other software. If your Web browser crashes or freezes frequently and runs slower than usual, it's possible that a PUP like Win32/Zperm has been installed.
