Win32/Sality.nao is a computer virus known to cause chaos on compromised computers. In essence, Win32/Sality.nao is a polymorphic file infector which targets executables with extensions such as .exe or .scr. These files are infected by adding a new section which contains Win32/Sality.nao, also the host file is modified in a way that allows the virus to execute before running the original code. Firewalls and security applications will be disabled to prevent the detection and removal of Win32/Sality.nao as it attempts to download malicious files onto the compromised PC. Additionally, Win32/Sality.nao will create a start-up registry key and block a victim's access to security websites. Win32/Sality.nao is a dangerous virus that should be removed with a good antivirus immediately after detection.
