Virus.Boot-DOS.V.1526 is a computer virus that infects and spreads in multiple ways. Virus.Boot-DOS.V.1526 is able to infect the MBR of the hard drive and reside in memory. Additionally, Virus.Boot-DOS.V.1526 is known to search for and infect executable files in a compromised PC.Virus.Boot-DOS.V.1526 is also used in fake warning messages displayed by rogueware such as XP Antispyware 2010 and Vista Antispyware 2010. One of the fake warning messages read as follows:

System hacked!
Unknown program is scanning your system registry right now! Identity theft detected!
