Ultra Antivirus 2009 is an exact clone of another rogue anti-spyware program named Micro Antivirus 2009. Another of the many money-making schemes developed by cyber-thieves, Ultra Antivirus 2009 is advertised via Trojan viruses that display fake security alerts and notifications on your computer, stating that your PC is infected. These Trojans will then download and install Ultra Antivirus 2009 on to your computer and will be configured to start automatically when Windows starts up.
Once it starts, Ultra Antivirus 2009 will scan your computer and list a variety of malware that cannot be removed unless you first purchase the program.
The main goal of rogue anti-spyware applications like Ultra Antivirus 2009, is to coerce you into purchasing their software. Ultra Antivirus 2009 merely lists a variety of infections on your computer after performing a scan, most of which are with fake, or the Trojans that installed Ultra Antivirus 2009 in the first place. While this is happening, the program will also display fake security alerts stating that your computer is under attack and that you should purchase Ultra Antivirus 2009 in order to protect your PC. These are simple, but effective, scare tactics employed by most rogue anti-spyware applications.
