Once installed, the application modifies certain browser settings and prevents the user from reverting them to their original state. For Ubrowsersearch.net specifically, the homepage, new tab page, and the default search engine will be set to ubrowsesearch.net.

Infosec experts classify such search engines as fake due to their inability to perform the most basic search engine function - searching through the net and delivering relevant search results. Instead, Ubrowsesearch.net takes the user's search query and redirects it through the Google Custom Search to generate results.

While some browser hijackers may have features that some users find useful, it is still strongly recommended to remove such applications from your computer.
