The TvNewTab browser extension, also seen as TvNewTab(Plus), is offered by Imali Media Ltd. as a browser extension that can allow you to access protected video streams and watch the latest movies from Hollywood for free. The offer may be tempting, but you need to know that Imali Media Ltd. is associated with several adware applications including Cool Media Tab and Social Media NewTab. Moreover, the TvNewTab extension may allow you to load copyrighted content without the proper authorization, and you risk being involved in a civil court action and criminal investigation. The TvNewTab extension is adware and is a modified version of the MediaNewTab app that is supported by Imali Media Ltd. as well. Computer users that wish to load protected video streams via the TvNewTab(Plus) adware may be dissatisfied and subjected to a constant stream of advertisements on their screens.
The TvNewTab adware may run in your system background as a browser service and register a network adapter to protect its operations. The TvNewTab adware may edit the values in your Registry to handle protocols like RTSP, RTMP, and open FLV files in a customized window. The TvNewTab adware does not use SSL encryption and may expose users to threats like Trojan:HTML/Browlock. Security researchers note that the ads by TvNewTab may be loaded on every page you visit and appear as banners, in-text hyperlinks and floating ad-boxes. Additionally, the TvNewTab adware may change your default search engine and homepage to Search.tvnewtabplussearch.com. The TvNewTab(Plus) adware may provide users with links to third-party sites like Facebook, IMDB, and Aliexpress that may be clones of these legitimate portals. Adware like the TvNewTab extension may lead users to phishing content and connect to servers that may deploy harmful software. Computer users that notice the TvNewTab(Plus) adware attached to their browser need to use a trusted anti-malware utility to clean their machine.
