Troj/PDFEx-GD is a Trojan that is a part of a malware attack. Troj/PDFEx-GD propagates via spam NYC Traffic Ticket emails. Deceptive emails strive to fool recipients into believing that they were caught speeding by the New York State Police, and are being charged with a traffic offense. In truth, scammers use these bogus emails to corrupt affected PCs with Troj/PDFEx-GD. A common email used in the spam campaign has a subject 'NYC Traffic Ticket [id number]'. The malicious email carries a link which takes affected PC users to a website that incorporates the Blackhole exploit kit. If the PC user enters the infected website, his/her workstation can be corrupted via Adobe Flash and PDF exploits, recognized as Troj/PDFEx-GD.
