Trojan.Roraccoon is a persistent piece of suspicious software that may be harmful to the PC users it infects potentially. It shows up on the Windows Registry as ‘trojan.roracoon’ and has proven particularly hard to delete from the system. At present, security researchers consider Trojan.Roraccoon a generic type of Trojan because they have yet to determine the exact nature of this software and the scope of the harm it may do to an infected PC machine. So far, infected PC users have reported no specific implications resulting from Trojan.Roraccoon. What seems troublesome, however, is the persistent behavior of the application. Even though PC users have no problem removing Roraccoon with the help of adware cleaners, the unwanted software keeps showing up over and over again, even after system reboot.

What makes Trojan.Roraccoon so persistent is not clear yet. What is clear, however, is that if Roraccoon is indeed a Trojan, it may pose a number of threats to the PC on which it is running. We know for a fact that Trojans are capable of attracting other malware types and install them on the destination system. What is more, they also may retrieve information by keeping a log of every keystroke and every website you visit. If this is not enough, a Trojan also could serve as a backdoor for unwanted remote access to the PC involved, thus paving the way for more severe infections.

While there is no direct evidence that Trojan.Roraccoon is capable of causing such significant harm, you would be better off using a reputable anti-malware solution to remove this threat should it land on your PC.
