Trojan.MonaGray

Trojan.MonaGray is a Trojan horse program used by cyber-criminals to distribute the rogue security application called Unigray Antivirus. Trojan.MonaGray can enter users' systems through the exploitation of web browser vulnerabilities or via drive-by downloads. Once Trojan.MonaGray is inside a computer system it will modify the registry to guarantee that it is reinstalled or executed with every system reboot. Additionally, Trojan.MonaGray will make changes to the Hosts file in order to direct victims' search engines to pages promoting the Unigray Antivirus.

Trojan.MonaGray will also set Internet Explorer's title bar to "MonaRonaDona" as it also attempts to direct victims to search for the word MonaRonaDona. Trojan.MonaGray also uses scare tactics such as displaying fake warning messages, to scare its victims into purchasing Unigray Antivirus. By disabling task manager and a user's access to certain computer security websites, Trojan.MonaGray manages to operate undetected. Trojan.MonaGray can be detected and removed with a recognized security application. Do not purchase Unigray Antivirus as it is an illegitimate security application.
