Trojan.Dropper.BCMiner is a Trojan that installs BitCoin minning applications on the corrupted machine. Bitcoins are virtual currency used for both legitimate purposes and hiding money transactions from the law. Depending on the way BitCoin operates, it is possible to obtain small amount of them by launching a certain tool on your PC. Attackers launch such applications on many targeted PCs and, therefore, obtain lots of money. BitCoin minning uses resources of the infected PC. Therefore, Trojan.Dropper.BCMinner will slow down PC performance depending on how a certain minner is established. Trojan.Dropper.BCMiner will accomplish different computations and use up network bandwidth. Trojan.Dropper.BCMiner might also distribute other malware infections on the compromised PC. Trojan.Dropper.BCMiner may also be a false positive. Most of Bitcoin applications, both legitimate and illegitimate, use similar files. Therefore, if you installed Bitcoin associated software program, then it is probably this is false positive. If you haven't installed it, then this is a PC infection. Trojan.Dropper.BCMiner is able to return because such software programs are often dropped by other malware threats and through computers that are already in botnet.
