Troj/Agent-YXP is a Trojan that is included in a Vodafone spam malware campaign. Troj/Agent-YXP propagates via a fake MMS email message allegedly sent by Vodafone. The bogus Vodafone email pretends to be a notification about a MMS message that has allegedly sent to the mobile phone of the recipient. The spam Vodafone email message has the subject 'You have received a new message'. The unsolicited Vodafone email carries an attached file called 'Vodafone_MMS-uk.zip' attached. The fake email of Vodafone declares that the recipient has received a picture message from the certain mobile number and encourages the PC user to save the attached file in order to save the picture. The ZIP file includes a malicious application, named Vodafone_MMS-uk.jpeg.exe, found as Troj/Agent-YXP. The application's use of a double extension (.jpeg.exe) is clearly a trick to strive to fool computer users, especially those who have set Windows to hide file extensions, into thinking that the file sent to them is an authentic JPEG image. Troj/Agent-YXP is generated to infect Windows PCs rather than mobile phones.
