Tecontrad.top Description

Tecontrad.top is a mostly empty website but don't let that fool you - its sole purpose for existing is to trick unsuspecting users into falling for popular browser-based tactics. Tecontrad.top is far from unique; on the contrary, there have already been countless websites virtually identical to it unleashed on the Internet and more are coming into existence every day.

They all have the same goal - to convince visitors to click the 'Allow' button through various social-engineering tricks. Tecontrad.top employs the most popular scheme by far. It pretends to be conducting a bot captcha check by prominently displaying the following message:

'Click Allow to confirm that you are not a robot!'

Of course, clicking the button will have a totally different outcome, as it will grant the unsafe website all of the browser permissions it requires to start executing its real agenda. Affected users will suddenly start seeing various unwanted advertisements being delivered directly to the screen of their device. Closing the browser at this point will not affect mitigating the frequency at which the advertisements are appearing. Furthermore, clicking on any of them could expose the user to significant security risks. The advertisements generated by Tecontrad.top could redirect to deceptive third-party websites offering dubious apps, mostly PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) or fake software updates that may have malware threats lurking inside them.

The fact that the user has landed on Tecontrad.top in the first place could indicate that an adware application is already lurking on their devices. That is why it is recommended to perform a scan with a reputable anti-malware solution.
