Tailsearch.com is a browser hijacker dedicated to the promotion of a fake search engine and, most likely, the generation of advertising money by injecting sponsored content into the displayed search results. Users who have, either knowingly or not, installed Tailsearch.com on their computers will soon notice that their search queries are being redirected through some strange search engine. That happens because Tailsearch.com substitutes the default search engine with a fake one of its own.

Experts consider it a fake engine due to its inability to provide search results on its own. Instead, it takes all of the user searches and redirects them once more, but this time through the Custom Google Search.

Having Tailsearch.com or any other similar browser hijacker installed represents a security risk that shouldn't be ignored. Most applications of this type can track the user's browsing activity or log the searchers conducted through their fake search engines.
