Threat Database Adware System Table

System Table

By GoldSparrow in Adware

The System Table software has no official site, and it is delivered to PC users via free software bundles that many of us might handle with the "Standard" and "Express" options. Unfortunately, the System Table program is not what you would want on your computer considering that threat actors exploit advertisements and shade advertising publishers on the Internet. The System Table desktop program is packed as a browser extension that can be integrated into many Web browsers based on the Chromium project by Google. The same project is used by many Internet companies including the Russian giant Yandex, some AV developers and Web browser developers like Vivaldi and SRWare Iron. The System Table extension is classified as adware given that it is designed to inject unsolicited advertisements on the pages accessed through your Internet client.

Computer security researchers discovered that the System Table adware-powered extension is transmitted to users in the company of other adware like DragonBoost and riskware like S5mark. The System Table adware is recorded to communicate with the parked domain feed[.]exssmith[.]com that is hosted on the 104.27.138.58 IP address. The System Table adware is configured to download tracking cookies, persistent Web beacons and instructions, which it adds to load from feed[.]exssmith[.]com. Affected users may find the System Table extension in the list of installed extensions in Google Chrome (including its alternatives). Surfing the Internet is likely to be accompanied by pop-up windows and banners that offer enticing limited-time deals and trial runs of shareware. We have seen the System Table adware load new tabs and new windows with the following URLs:

h[tt]ps://feed.exssmith[.]com/code/feed/?pid=[random characters]
h[tt]ps://feed.exssmith[.]com/code/x/?pc=[random characters]

It is a bad idea to click on the notifications produced by System Table even if they feature titles like "Urgent Windows PC Update." The System Table adware may be used to introduce more CPU miners to your machine like XMRig, ‘xm32b.exe’ and ‘Systemauto32.exe.’ Researchers have reported that the bundles with System Table include other programs named — "Fast search World," "DragonBoost," "App," "PQwick," "expertchange," "Awesome Utility," "Punto Switcher," "script.exe" and "s5mark". Failing to contain and eliminate the System Table might lead to severe computer problems. It is recommended to remove the System Table adware and associated tracking technologies using a reputable anti-spyware suite.
