The Startsearch.org site is the home for the StartSearch browser extension. The StartSearch browser extension has versions for Google Chrome only. Startsearch.org hosts a custom build of Google and is operated by advertisers. Therefore, users that have installed extensions to block advertisements will not be able to use Startsearch.org unless these extensions are turned off. You may have been welcomed to install the StartSearch app to improve your search capabilities on Google and notice that it does not make Gooogle.com appear different. Instead, the StartSearch app will modify your default search provider, new tab page and home page settings. Web surfers will be redirected to StartSearch.org and welcomed to surf the Internet from there.
Many users may not like the activity of the StartSearch program because it requires users to disable their ad-blockers and allow the Startsearch.org site to show notifications on their desktops via message boxes. Additionally, the Startsearch.org site does not support encryption and your communication with the site is not protected. HTTPS protocol is favored by leading search services like Google and Bing for a reason. The lack of HTTPS connection to Startsearch.org means that third parties may record your search terms, what sites you open via Startsearch.org, and the content you load on Startsearch.org. Computer users that value their privacy and do not intend to share their online experience with unfamiliar companies and suspicious advertisers might want to avoid using Startsearch.org. Security researchers do not welcome the way the StartSearch extension works and its functionality. The StartSearch app is deemed as a browser hijacker, and you might want to remove this software from your PC. You can eliminate the StartSearch application and residual files like cache and tracking cookies with the help of a trustworthy anti-spyware instrument.
