EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

SpyGuarder is a fake antispyware application that, according to ESG security researchers, has been around since at least 2008. This fake security program is a misleading application that is part of a well-known online scam. SpyGuarder was published by Trixo Development and is designed to exaggerate its reports in order to trick its victims into purchasing a license for this bogus security application. SpyGuarder can infect any computer system with a 32-bit operating system. According to ESG security researchers, no significant changes have been made to SpyGuarder since 2010 and, while a SpyGuarder infection is cause for worry, there are significantly more dangerous rogue security programs that have been released since then. Most fully-updated, reliable anti-malware applications should be able to deal with a SpyGuarder infection with ease.

How SpyGuarder Infects Your Computer System
Do not be tricked by SpyGuarder's claims and interface, this is a bogus security application created to steal your money. When SpyGuarder is installed, SpyGuarder creates seven files: four DAT files and an INI file in the application data directory and the SpyGuarder executable (spyguarder.exe) and a DLL. Like most rogue security applications, SpyGuarder makes changes to the Windows Registry that allows SpyGuarder to start up automatically whenever the computer user runs Windows. SpyGuarder also has the capacity to display constant error messages and to take the victim to SpyGuarder's website where the victim is then prompted to purchase a useless 'full version' of SpyGuarder.
Do Not Fall for the SpyGuarder Scam!
ESG security researchers strongly advise against paying heed to any of SpyGuarder's claims. These are all part of a well-known online scam. Basically, programs like SpyGuarder are developed by unscrupulous companies and criminals as a way to attack inexperienced computer users. SpyGuarder impersonates a legitimate anti-malware application. It does this through the use of an authentic-looking user interface and by displaying error messages that are designed to appear authentic to inexperienced computer users. The victim, alarmed from the constant barrage of fake error messages, may confuse SpyGuarder with a legitimate anti-malware application. SpyGuarder then takes the victim to its website where SpyGuarder will attempt to sell a useless 'registration code' to the victim. According to ESG malware analysts, purchasing a 'full version' of SpyGuarder does nothing to relieve your computer system of its annoying behavior. Because of this, SpyGuarder should be removed completely.
