Softonic Hijacker

Softonic Hijacker is a browser add-on that invades an attacked PC without a victimized computer user's users authorization. Softonic Hijacker is a potentially dangerous application as it sets the affected computer at risk of getting contaminated with malware infections and blocks the target PC user from normal activities on the computer. Softonic Hijacker modifies the default homepage and the default search engine to Search.softonic.com, which doesn't give web users the same search results as most of the genuine search engines because it is a tricky search tool. Softonic Hijacker changes search results in any genuine search engine with links to dubious websites designed and pushed by attackers to raise traffic and earn money the pay-per-click technique. Softonic Hijacker enters targeted PCs packed with other applications that Internet users are able to download from the Internet. Although the specific application is able to prevent Softonic Hijacker from entering the computer system, many Internet users do not pay much attention to the installation steps when they are installing some program. That is where PC user could block the download of Softonic Hijacker as if they don't deselect its download it is downloaded and installed to the PC automatically.
