SmartCompare, otherwise known as SemAArtCompaAare, is adware that may bombard the computer system with spam pop-up advertisements, banners and messages. SmartCompare may embed its own plug-in, add-on, browser extension or toolbar on the Web browser possibly affecting Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and other popular Web browsers. SmartCompare may enter the PC without the computer user's agreement because it may usually spread and penetrate into the computer system through bundled free software that PC users can download from unreliable download websites on the Internet. Once installed, SmartCompare may make changes to the current system settings, change desktop background, substitute the default homepage and search engine or a new tab window with a suspicious website which may be produced for commercial purposes.
