The Shopzy browser add-on is created by adware developers to earn pay-per-click revenue and users may automatically install the Shopzy adware by handling a freeware bundle via the 'Express' or 'Typical' option. The Shopzy adware is programmed to display marketing materials in your web client and might appear as a Browser Helper Object, an extension, and an add-on. Security researchers note that the Shopzy adware isn't in any way related to the legitimate Android app Shopzy. Adware developers are known to rely on the good reputation of trusted apps, and the Shopzy adware is an example of that. Computer users infected with the Shopzy adware may notice it listed in the 'Start Menu' of Windows and the 'Programs and Features' module. Additionally, the Shopzy adware creates registry keys that allow it to start with your Windows OS and execute its operations every time you launch your web browser. You should note that the Shopzy adware can use tracking cookies such as HTTP, Flash and session cookies to determine what type of ads might attract your attention. Moreover, the ads by Shopzy may feature links to potentially harmful domains and software distribution platforms with questionable reputation where you may be offered to install Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs). The Shopzy adware on your PC may put your safety at risk and cover your browser with ads, and you might want to use a trusted anti-malware utility to remove the Shopzy adware.
