The Shop Now New Tab is packed as a browser extension for Google Chrome, which is stated to offer better shopping search experience and help you find what you are looking for. The Shop Now New Tab extension from Newtabtools.com is an ad-supported program that welcomes users to search the Internet through a customized Yahoo engine. The permissions requested by Shop Now New Tab during the installation process include:
- Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
- Replace the page you see when opening a new tab.
- Read and change your browsing history.
The Shop Now New Tab is perceived as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) by Newtabtools.com by computer security researchers.
