Shieldren is a potentially unwanted browser extension that may claim to restrict children from facing adult content incorporating websites. Shieldren was generated by Revizer Technologies Ltd. and has been made available for Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome Web browsers. Shieldren may appear as a genuine and helpful browser plug-in; however, in truth, it is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). Shieldren may create and show obtrusive commercial ads. Shieldren may be distributed and install itself onto the PC as an additional program packaged with other free applications. Upon installation onto Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, Shieldren may create non-stop commercial ads involving sponsored links, banner advertisements, discount coupon advertisements and pop-up advertisements. Shieldren may trace the PC user's online browsing habits and record a variety of Web browsing details such as the default search provider, visited web addresses, search requests, IP address, location, MAC address and other similar hardware and software data.
