SecureDossier

SecureDossier is a Secure Solutions Inc product, acting as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), advertised as a system optimizer. Once SecureDossier is installed, and a scan is completed, it will claim that a range of issues was detected on the user's computer. However, when these issues are addressed, SecureDossier will state that the full version of the software needs to be purchased before they can be fixed.

SecureDossier also may be bundled with other free software that the users may find on the Internet. Unfortunately, in some cases, these free downloads do not disclose what other software also may end up installed on a user's system. In such cases, the most common parasites installed as part of these bundles tend to be adware. The Windows Registry is a database utilized by the Windows OS and any installed applications. It is used to store the settings of all of those applications, populated by hundreds of thousands of entries on most machines around the world. In some cases, there may be programs that were uninstalled so that their entries have become obsolete and unused.

SecureDossier scans the Registry for outdated entries and offers to remove them. Due to the huge number of entries, however, sometimes mistakes may happen, and useful Registry entries may be removed. In the end, the removal of these obsolete entries may not change the performance of a computer all that much, which makes SecureDossier a Potentially Unwanted Program and a strong candidate to a quick removal.
