The Search Voyage software is promoted as a search enhancer that may appear in your Internet client as the Search Voyage New Tab extension and improve your online experience. The Search Voyage software may use CRX, XPI, and BHO file objects to alter the behavior of your default Internet browser. The Search Voyage New Tab may include a custom weather widget, several tab backgrounds, time and date, and a search field of course. The Search Voyage software may change your search engine to Search.searchvoyage.com and your homepage to Searchvoayage.com. Additionally, the Search Voyage extension may use JavaScript, Web beacons, DOM storage data and persistent cookies to built an advertising profile about your online habits. Security researchers reveal that the Search Voyage New Tab extension is adware and may ask to access your social media profiles and online shopping accounts to generate personalized advertisements. The Search Voyage adware may use a custom build of the Yahoo search engine to provide search functionality to its users and send usage statistics to advertisers.
The Search Voyage adware might record your IP address, device type, browser version and hardware configuration to help its operators direct targeted advertisements to your screen. Moreover, the Search Voyage adware may attempt to detect your physical location and invite you to provide your credit card details to make online purchases faster.
