EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

The Search.alivesearch.com site is presented to visitors as a search portal that features the name 'AliveSearch' shown in the browser tab. The default configuration for the Search.alivesearch.com search portal is with the private search turned off. Search.alivesearch.com loads with an unencrypted connection and allows users to change the background image to one of five templates. Search.alivesearch.com is not a standalone search service — the site performs redirects to Yahoo[.]com. When you switch the private search on you are redirected to Myprivatesearch[.]com, a site that we have reported with many potentially unwanted applications like BrowsePrivately and the gamingZone Search. You should note that you are not conducting a truly private search at Myprivatesearch[.]com.
Search.alivesearch.com and Myprivatesearch[.]com are operated by a company called Magic Software (h[tt]ps://www.magicsoftware[.]com/about-us/) registered in Israel that helps big companies deploy targeted advertisements to Web surfers and monitor the Web activities of users who install their free applications. Search.alivesearch.com may appear as the default new tab and search provider for PC users who have installed the 'AliveSearch' browser plug-in on their computers via freeware bundles and browser extension platforms. Search.alivesearch.com, Myprivatesearch[.]com and related browser tools do not collect personal information like your social security number, credit card data, phone number and physical address. Extensions like 'My Private Search' from h[tt]p://www1.myprivatesearch[.]com/about and 'AliveSearch' from h[tt]p://www1.alivesearch[.]com may be promoted as privacy enhancements that allow you to delete your browsing history and cookies, but they may leave the persistent tracking cookies dropped from third parties associated with Magic Software.
The 'AliveSearch' can use these cookies to record what advertisements you click on the Web, what videos you watch, what items you buy online, what content you download. The 'AliveSearch' software is deemed as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), and the changes it makes to your browser may lead some AV vendors to categorize 'AliveSearch' as a browser hijacker. You may wish to consider 'AliveSearch' for removal and clean unwanted browser cookies using a credible anti-spyware scanner.
