Sadooma is a detection name used by cyber security researchers to identify the Sadooma browser extension and let users known that the program may not perform as expected. Sadooma is classified as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that has an official site at Sadooma.com. The Sadooma browser extension has a page on the Chrome Webstore at Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sadooma/bjpgbdljdofdhggmpkmmbpefplpdopdc. The Sadooma software is promoted as a browser extension that can generate an RSS-feed that includes content that became viral recently. The promotion at Sadooma.com reads:

'Reach new trending content with our new outstanding extension.
If you are like us, addicted to interesting viral content, you've reached the best place for this. Sadooma will help you to find what is trending right now on the internet in an easy and immediate way.'

It is not clear what are the sources for the content shown via the Sadooma extension and who made the app. The developers of Sadooma do not appear to be registered as an independent company and subsidiary firm to a big media outlet. The site for the Sadooma extension provides little information as to what exactly to expect from the software, who pays for the development of the program and if it is there a way to filter the content shown on your screen. At the time of writing this, the page on the Chrome Webstore reveals that four users to benefit from the Sadooma's services, the comments section has no entries, and the app has no stars to indicate if it is received well. When you proceed with the installation process you will be invited to grant Sadooma the following privileges:

  • Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
  • Change your search settings to: search.sadooma.com.

The portal search.sadooma.com is presented as a cheap copy of Google.com and is operated by ExoMode Ltd. It is not clear if ExoMode Ltd. is responsible for the development of Sadooma. The Sadooma extension is known to include marketing materials in the feed provided in the browser. Sadooma may list promotional offers at search.sadooma.com that are related to your recent searches on Google, Bing and Yahoo! The video, images and news search functionality at search.sadooma.com is not working, and you may want to avoid the portal. Evidently, the activity of Sadooma is centered around providing users with easy access to commercial content by sponsors. PC users that are not happy with how Sadooma works may want to remove the extension and related data with the assistance of a trustworthy anti-spyware scanner.
