The PursePerks shopping helper from PursePerks.com is a 32-bit program for Windows systems that is promoted as a tool that can help users to save money on stores like Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot and Walmart. You may be presented with an offer to install the PursePerks program in free software bundles and wish to know that it is adware. Security analysts classify PursePerks as adware because it does not have a valid digital certificate and may push many ads on the screen of users who installed it. The PursePerks adware is known to install its files in the hidden Temp folder and affect Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. The PursePerks adware may cover your screen with discounts, coupons and vouchers, but you may find yourself spending more money because it is programmed to generate affiliate marketing revenue for its creators. The PursePerks adware is a modified version of BestToolbars and may use tracking cookies and read your Internet history log to determine what type of advertising content you might be interested in browsing. The PursePerks adware may use pop-under and pop-up windows as well as banners to urge users to install third-party applications like 24×7 Help and SysPlayer that might crash your browser. The PursePerks adware may run as a startup program and slow down your computer. The PursePerks adware may work as a background service in the Windows Task Manager, and you may not see it listed in the extension manager of your Web browser. The PursePerks adware may use JavaScript to block native ads on pages you visit most often. The ads brought by PursePerks may feature links to harmful domains, and you should install a reputable anti-spyware solution to delete its components.
