PUP.InternetUpdater is a potentially unwanted application with adware functionalities, which may occur on the computer as a potentially unwanted toolbar. PUP.InternetUpdater may be able to take over all the Web browsers that can be found installed on the PC. The main symptom, which may indicate that PUP.InternetUpdater may be installed on the computer, is constant pop-up messages about offers, discount coupons and other sales and deals. The creators of the offers and deals delivered by PUP.InternetUpdatermay strive to earn money by forcibly rerouting PC users to suspicious websites that pay for advertising them. PUP.InternetUpdater may keep track of the computer user's browsing habits and transfer and use this data for targeted advertising purposes. PUP.InternetUpdater may proliferate and enter the PC through bundled freeware and without the computer user's consent.
