The creators of the offers and deals delivered by PUP.InternetUpdatermay strive to earn money by forcibly rerouting PC users to suspicious websites that pay for advertising them. PUP.InternetUpdater may keep track of the computer user's browsing habits and transfer and use this data for targeted advertising purposes. PUP.InternetUpdater may proliferate and enter the PC through bundled freeware and without the computer user's consent.
