PUP.Installex is a potentially unwanted program, which may be sponsored by adware programs, embed unwanted toolbars or have other uncertain purposes. PUP.Installex is not a malware infection, but it may carry numerous damaging attributes, such as rootkit capabilities to disguise itself deeply into the attacked computer system, browser hijacking and interfering with the target PC user's experience. PUP.Installex may use deceptive blackhat SEO techniques to boost traffic of the website and make money from the pay-per-click technique. PUP.Installex may access the corrupted PC packaged with freeware and shareware programs(video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators). PUP.Installex may also be packaged within the custom installer on many suspicious download websites, so if the PC user has downloaded a certain software product from suspicious websites, he might have also installed PUP.Installex throughout the setup process of the certain software product.
