EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.

The PrivateVPNBrowsing software from Friendlyappz.com is promoted on the Chrome Web Store as a tool that helps you control the data you share online and provide users with "an all-in-one package to secure your online privacy." Also, the PrivateVPNBrowsing extension is stated to "detect search activity that may be tracked and linked to your personal information, and redirecting it to an untracked and safe, private search engine." You can read the full description on Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/privatevpnbrowsing/fajnmgmnchpphaiajljcgfnlgcglogig.
Web surfers may be lead to believe by Friendlyappz.com that the PrivateVPNBrowsing browser extension includes a proxy service and that it can secure their online activity. You should note that the PrivateVPNBrowsing app adds an icon to the navigation panel which features a promotional image for the NetNut Proxy extension from www[.]netnut[.]io. The NetNut Proxy extension offers proxy services while the PrivateVPNBrowsing extension adds a custom search by Mps.eanswers.com to your omnibox. Tests of the PrivateVPNBrowsing extension showed that mps.eanswers.com does not feature connection encryption and that Web surfers are rerouted to h[tt]ps://www.myprivatesearch[.]com/search?q=[search terms]. Clicking on the terms of use and privacy policy links presented on the PrivateVPNBrowsing drop-down menu leads users to Myprivatesearch.com/policy and Myprivatesearch.com/terms. PrivateVPNBrowsing is deemed as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) by Friendlyappz.com that causes browser redirects and promotes third-party products. Additionally, PrivateVPNBrowsing appears to be a clone of Untrack Search, BrowsePrivately, iPrivate Multi Search and Browsing Guard. The company behind Eanswers.com is using extensions that are supposed to protect your data to collect information on your Internet activity and publish tailor-suited ads via Myprivatesearch.com. You might want to consider removing the PrivateVPNBrowsing extension from Friendlyappz.com that is a proxy for Eanswers.com.
