PowerStrip is a malicious toolbar that affects the Internet Explorer web browser program. PowerStrip may be installed as a browser plugin where it then displays a toolbar that looks convincing for providing PC users with usable functions. In reality, PowerStrip may switch affiliate IDs to steal commission fees so cybercrooks can take credit for purchases made through shopping sites. Removing PowerStrip may be removed with the use of an updated antimalware scan tool.
