Police-service.net is a suspicious and possibly damaging website that may be used by fraudsters to deliver a variety of ransomware. Police-service.net is related to browser hijackers and Trojans. A related ransomlock or 'Police' Trojan blocks a machine and popular Web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome and presses a PC user to pay a so-called fine to regain access to the computer. Malware infections linked to Police-service.net may show a bogus alert declaring that a computer user committed cybercrime by performing illegitimate online actions and, thus, breached certain copyright laws or other laws. Browser hijackers may also continuously divert computer users to Police-service.net.
