Policeguardstate.org is an unreliable and possibly damaging website that may be used by cybercriminals to deliver a variety of ransomware. Policeguardstate.or may be related to browser hijackers and Trojans. A related ransomlock or 'Police' Trojan blocks a machine and well-known Web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, displays a bogus police warning message and forces a PC user to pay a so-called ransom to regain access to the computer. The bogus police alert shown on Policeguardstate.org by by malware infections associated with this tricky website may declare that a computer user performed illegitimate online actions and, thus, violated certain copyright laws or similar laws. Browser hijackers may also continuously redirect computer users to Policeguardstate.org and similar ransomware related websites.
