The misspelled name of the Playaneer browser plug-in comes from the Playaneer.com gaming platform for free and premium Adobe Flash games. The Playaneer software is deployed to users on its official site and can be seen incorporated with free software packages. The terms of service at Playaneer.com reveal that users can play premium games without paying a penny by installing the Playaneer browser plug-in by PlayaNeer LLC, and many may be willing to do it. However, security experts consider the Playaneer browser plug-in as adware as it shows pop-up and pop-under windows loaded with promotional materials. The Playaneer adware functions the same way like Rival Gaming and Arcadeweb and may use session and HTTP cookies, read your Internet browsing log and detect your approximate geographical location to show tailor-suited ads. Additionally, users that click on the banners brought by Playaneer may be redirected to sponsored services on third-party websites and may be invited to install software like NetLiker and PicEnhance. The programs mentioned before have a bad reputation and may change your default search engine and homepage without your consent. Playaneer may appear in your 'Programs and Features' panel of Windows but may not have a functional uninstaller. The Playaneer adware can be addressed with an anti-spyware application that is specialized in removing threats like Playaneer.
