PicRec is adware that may display several pop-up advertisements that offer deals, coupons and discounts. The PicRec pop-ups appear when computer users visit online shopping websites or popular social networking websites. The computer user may think that advertisements delivered by PicRec are rather reliable since it provides ways to save money. However, ads of PicRec are much more annoying than beneficial. If the computer user clicks on the PicRec ads, he may be sent to commercial websites. Ultimately, the goal of PicRec ads is to reroute computer users to advertising websites. PicRec may also attempt to gather data about the computer user's browsing habits. Some of the data collected is what websites the computer user is visiting and the data collected may be used for marketing intentions.
