EnigmaSoft/SpyHunter 5 -- Safe Deployment Practices (SDP)
SpyHunter 5, by EnigmaSoft Limited, protects Windows systems against malware, viruses, ransomware, and other threats. In addition to its strength in malware blocking and detection, SpyHunter also leverages powerful malware remediation capabilities. SpyHunter is carefully designed and engineered to minimize any performance impact on Windows systems and other third-party software. Due to the need for flexibility in the rapidly evolving antimalware and computer security space, EnigmaSoft releases SpyHunter updates via two separate channels: SpyHunter Program Updates and SpyHunter Definition Updates.
SpyHunter Program Updates
SpyHunter Program Updates are updates to SpyHunter's executable files, drivers, and other application components. SpyHunter Program Updates add/update program features, general detection and removal mechanisms, and other application functionality. SpyHunter Program Updates also resolve bugs and implement changes to maintain compatibility with Windows and third-party applications.
When a SpyHunter Program Update becomes available, users are notified via an in-app dialog that presents the Program Update, along with release notes related to the Program Update. The user can then click a button to accept and automatically install the Program Update.
Program Updates are thoroughly tested in-house by EnigmaSoft, generally for a period of several weeks or longer. EnigmaSoft tests SpyHunter Program Updates on a variety of system architectures and hardware/software configurations for reliability and performance.
SpyHunter Program Updates are deployed gradually, in staggered batches, across SpyHunter's user base. Throughout the Program Update process, EnigmaSoft monitors performance, system stability, reliability, and any potential false positives through metrics collected via SpyHunter's built-in diagnostic transmission functionality to minimize any potential issues. EnigmaSoft's Customer Support Team is also directly involved in the Program Update rollout process and can rapidly assist any users who experience issues. This gradual and controlled deployment process allows us to rapidly and effectively identify, respond to, and/or contain any potential issues with a Program Update, and to abort the Program Update process at an early stage, if necessary.
Definition Updates
In addition to SpyHunter program updates, EnigmaSoft also frequently and constantly updates SpyHunter's threat definitions and security detection rules, allowing SpyHunter to detect and remediate the latest security threats. EnigmaSoft also regularly updates its Threat Assessment Criteria. Definition Updates are securely delivered directly to SpyHunter via an in-app update mechanism. SpyHunter also communicates with EnigmaSoft's servers via the Cloud to obtain additional detections/definitions and to perform advanced malware analysis in real-time.
EnigmaSoft takes potential false positives very seriously and performs extensive false positive testing on a variety of custom-designed systems before releasing definition updates. In addition, EnigmaSoft also extensively analyzes diagnostic information transmitted by SpyHunter to monitor Definition Updates and rapidly respond to any potential issues.
EnigmaSoft firmly believes that our Safe Deployment Practices, outlined above, greatly contribute to our core tenets of improving product quality, mitigating risk, and ensuring that our user base is protected and secure against a wide variety of constantly evolving threats.
